Site Checker Socialmeter is broken

 image

Socialmeter gives my site a score of 66 however I think it is broken because apart from Google Links all other services are on 0.

So… it missed e.g. 3000 delicious links to populair.eu …:

My shared hosting neighbors

image

The site OnSameHost displays sites sharing the same IP address. For me it was handy to look up who is sharing my shared hosting webspace.

Well, here are the neighbours:

- http://kahnconsultinginc.com/ (KCI is the advisor of choice for Fortune 500 and government organizations.)
- http://www.fasterpccleanclean.com/ (lots of info on anti spyware, nice site)

Weird Google Certification Update

My Symantic Client Firewall kept asking:

image

Whatever I did it tried connecting time and time again and wanted to connect to:

http://199.7.52.190/  on 1169 to port 80 and on 199.7.71.190 and 199.7.48.190 which all seem to be part of Verisign checks so it goes out to do a whole bunch of checking on certificates. Could be of course that today a big update on it took place. But lets keep this in the back of the mind.

Who killed John Lennon? George Bush Sr.

I recently saw the movie on George Bush Sr. and now I see another “story” (here) with other links to George Bush. So what do the skeptic society think on all these theories? They do seem to contain some very valid material.

He was not only involved with both commercial (oil) operations and non commercial (world vision) operations, cuba, directly involved with the killing on president Kennedy  by Cuban CIA veterans and now…. also directly involved with the attempt murder on Reagan………….

What kind of person is that? What is going on?

image image

http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Hinckley_Jr.  (shot Reagan)

"The family of the man charged with trying to assassinate President Reagan is acquainted with the family of Vice-President George Bush and had made large contributions to his political campaign … Scott Hinckley, brother of John W. Hinckley Jr. was to have dined tonight in Denver at the home of Neil Bush, one of the Vice-President’s sons … The Houston Post said it was unable to reach Scott Hinckley, vice-president of his father’s Denver-based firm, Vanderbilt Energy Corporation, for comment. Neil Bush lives in Denver, where he works for Standard Oil Company of Indiana. In 1978, Neil Bush served as campaign manager for his brother, George W. Bush, the Vice-President’s eldest son, who made an unsuccessful bid for Congress. Neil lived in Lubbock, Texas, throughout much of 1978, where John Hinckley lived from 1974 through 1980."

Year End Statistics of this WebLog

With the help of the Year-End-Statistics Plugin:

image

I seem to have posted about the same amount of postings as in the previous years. I have done about 700 postings this year. That is about 2 for each day.

image

When I switched to the new domain I basically didn’t take along the comments. Maybe one day when I am retired I will find some smart way to migrate the old comments. There are about 500 comments in 2008. In general I try to avoid postings which lead to much discussion. Private ones excluded.

image

I seem to be using more words and more words and more words :) It basically means less links and more content on all kind of rubbish of course. An average post was 2300 characters.

image

The total amount of characters typed was uhm… more than 1.5 million characters this year. If I would get 1 cent for each keypress I would be millionaire.

image

I have proven to be able to write popular posts that could hit the frontpage of Digg and Reddit so this year no populair stuff for merely getting visitors (well…) which means less pageviews as last year: about 370.000 pageviews and 270.000 unique visitors. Another factor resulting in less pageviews was that I moved certain parts to other sites e.g. to http://populair.eu and that I left the frontpage for a long time under construction for an internal project.

image

Visitors come from all over the world. From 121 countries/territories in the last month. Most visitors come from the US (66.666 this year) and from the Netherlands (42.444 this year). On average a vistitor visits 1.5 page. People from Congo – Kinshasa clicked on average the most pages: 4. Followed by Afghanistan and Zimbabwe

image

People from the above countries spend the longest time on average on the site ! :)

image

11% of the visitors are regulars, 88% are newcomers. To bring another ratio to that I would have to spend much more time on this blog which I am not planning to.

image

2311 visitors visited this site more than 50 times and about 311 more than 200 times. Basically I count that as frequent audience though I have absolutely no idea who these people are apart from some friends who comment on postings.

image

53% used Firefox, 40% used Internet Explorer (followed by safari, opera, mozilla, chrome, camino, conquerer, netscape and some minor minor ones)

image

87% uses Windows, 9% uses Mac, 3% uses Linux. Surprisingly there is a whole batch new kind of OS: iPhone, IPod, Playstation 3, Symbian OS, Danger Hiptop and 8 visitors used SunOS :)

image

Visitors use really ALL kind of screen resolutions, especially together with the different kind of browsers on all kind of devices. And yes 800×600 is still common.

And unto 2009…. the year of the Grande Recession!

Thomas Jefferson on Religion

Thomas Jefferson:
”In every country and every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot … they have perverted the purest religion ever preached to man into mystery and jargon, unintelligible to all mankind, and therefore the safer engine for their purpose.”

”Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined, imprisoned; yet we have not advanced an inch towards uniformity. What has been the effect of coercion? To make one half the world fools, and the other half hypocrites. To support roguery and error all over the earth.”

Benjamin Franklin:
-”In the affairs of the world, men are saved, not by faith, but by the lack of it.”
-”The way to see by faith is to shut the eye of reason.”

Thomas Paine:
-”Take away from Genesis the belief that Moses was the author, on which only the strange belief that it is the word of God has stood, and there remains nothing of Genesis but an anonymous book of stories, fables, and traditionary or invented absurdities, or of downright lies.”
-”I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish Church, by the Roman Church, by the Greek Church, by the Turkish Church, by the Protestant Church, nor by any Church that I know of. My own mind is my own Church. Each of those churches accuse the other of unbelief; and for my own part, I disbelieve them all.”

(from here)

image Of course this is about the “founding fathers” of the united states.

Some of the more prominent Founding Fathers were anti-clerical or vocal about their opposition to organized religion, such as Jefferson. Some of them often related their anti-organized church leanings in their speeches and correspondence, including George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson (who created the "Jefferson Bible"), and Benjamin Franklin.

And see what is happening 200 years later. The thing that they thought to leave behind in “Europe” and ever were prepared to fight for has sneakily conquered the once country that was once miles ahead of the rest. However I hope that somewhere in that country somewhere is still the light being preserved in small colonies of brightness.

A good movie tip on the mindset around this is : Goya’s Ghost (which I saw this week) (a good review on it)

Eds links for 2008-12-28: The Kennedy-Nixon-Bush Connection

Link

The Kennedy-Nixon-Bush Connection
A newly discovered FBI document reveals that George Bush was directly involved in the 1963 murder of President John Kennedy. The document places Bush working with the now-famous CIA agent, Felix Rodriguez, recruiting right-wing Cuban exiles for the invasion of Cuba. It was Bush’s CIA job to organize the Cuban community in Miami for the invasion. The Cubans were trained as marksmen by the CIA. Bush at that time lived in Texas. Hopping from Houston to Miami weekly, Bush spent 1960 and ’61 recruiting Cubans in Miami for the invasion. That is how he met Felix Rodriguez.
