E.e.a. is niet zo spectaculair.

I've been using Oasys for 2 yrs now. I loved them, to spite getting a defective lense once in a while (about 10% of the time).

I recently received a box from Lot #L001NFL179 and I have had major problems... painful problems! I take them off every night and use the proper solution. i just started a new job last week, so I put in a new pair of Oasys contacts for a few hours. My eye turned pink on my first day, so took them out. I did not think much of this and thought maybe my fingers were not completely clean or something. I put them in my case with my usual cleaning solution. The next day my eye was still a little pink, but I put them back in anyway. A few hours later my other eye turned pink. I pulled out both contacts and felt a sharp pain in my eyes. I wore glasses for a few days and my eyes cleared up. I threw both contacts away and replaced them with new ones. I thought maybe I had pink eye or something similar. I had similar problems with the new ones, one side much worse than the other. I put one contact back in and replaced the other with another brand new one. A few hours later the older contact was okay, but the eye new contact was bright red. I pullled them both out and the eye with the new contact was extremely painful. I was hoping a good night sleep would help, but my eye was tearing so bad that I only got a few hours. It's now the next day, I'm wearing glasses, but I can hardly see the PC screen with my left eye. It just won't stop tearing and I look like something out of a horror movie.

I'm obviously extremely disappointed! I am going to request my money back, but that will not make-up for the pain and embarrassment that I'm going through.

Thanks Jim, I think the major achievement of the service is that it has some kind of cult status. It's cool and it is simple.

I have seen a range of sites that provide services when 'dead', from complete archives with passwords, key files and last wishes to auto obituaries. It has become a genre I think. But I have not yet seen the "google" of "when dead" kind of sites. So... who knows :)

If you ever come around it then some kind of automated way to trigger the service would be nice. E.g. when I would login in WordPress I could write a filter that writes the message "logged in WordPress" to the service. Or... when I write a twitter message via a client, the client could add a filter to additionally call the service with "posted a twitter message". Or... when I open firefox I could write a small plugin that writes to the service "used firefox" etc...
That history in itself would be interesting. It would be nice to have it build in TV's firmware also. So that when I watch "Dr.Who on SciFi" that it logs "watched Dr.Who on SciFi" (see the developer.panasonic etc... sites for creating these little widgets). Then again... that would be a huge service and would probably bring up the question of revenue streams etc...

Thank you for the reminder that the LifeStatus site is still alive .... it was a compelling idea when it first occurred to me, but the passion I felt for it faded shortly after I had brought "version 1.0" into existence. I have been distracted since by other things, and haven't returned to explore the idea, I expect that's fairly typical for momentary inspirations.

It's very basic in its capabilities, and likely obsolete in light of the social media revolution that occurred since it was written, but there are still a few dozen active users, and the cost of keeping the site running is negligible (just the annual fee to renew the domain name).

So it's likely to stay online indefinitely. I'm still fond of the concept, and perhaps I will eventually revive my enthusiasm and discover other ways that it can provide value.

[...] The 10 commandments are a copy from chapter 125 in the Egyptian book of the dead | Edward de Leau Ever wondered where the 10 commandments came from? It has been discovered that the 10 commandments are based on chapter 125 in the Egyptian book of the dead (Although Exodus 34 contains ten imperative statements, the passages in Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5 contain more than ten, totaling fourteen or fifteen in all.) In that chapter the dead person has to appear before 42 judges and has to answer 42 questions.“Hail to thee, great God, Lord of the Two Truths. I have come unto thee, my Lord, that thou mayest bring me to see thy beauty. I know thee, I know thy name, I know the names of the 42 Gods who are with thee in this broad hall of the Two Truths . . . Behold, I am come unto thee. I have brought thee truth; I have done away with sin for thee. I have not sinned against anyone. I have not mistreated people. I have not done evil instead of righteousness . . . I have not reviled the God. I have not laid violent hands on an orphan. I have not done what the God abominates . . . I have not killed; I have not turned anyone over to a killer. I have not caused anyone’s suffering . . . I have not copulated (illicitly); I have not been unchaste. I have not increased nor diminished the measure, I have not diminished the palm; I have not encroached upon the fields. I have not added to the balance weights; I have not tempered with the plumb bob of the balance. I have not taken milk from a child’s mouth; I have not driven small cattle from their herbage… I have not stopped (the flow of) water in its seasons; I have not built a dam against flowing water. I have not quenched a fire in its time . . . I have not kept cattle away from the God’s property. I have not blocked the God at his processions. “ [...]
