I’m a day behind anwering all e-mails and accompanying tasks, so to make it more fun to go through the pile, let me blog some of the things I’m doing the twitter style. Maybe I can use it one time to point out some people what it means to live on the Internet or if they ask why I don’t anwer them right away
hundreds of E-mails in my gmail inbox, some highlights:
- some facebook invites/quizes/thingies (yes you may invite me), facebook is really booming and buzzing, it feels everyone is going for facebook now.
- got a whole bunch of nice people who send in tips for the 100 greatest music sites listing, which received 30.000 pageviews last tuesday and jumped me to spot 36.500 in Alexa (for that day), really great response! So I feel it as an obligation to update this page regularly and personally e-mail persons back to thank them for their additions. Here are some additions I really liked: nutsie, an iTunes library/play uploader from Christina, I’m so totally hooked to this already (Im now listening to the Paris Prison Playlist
). Sam sent meAnywhere.fm, which is basically the same concept as nutsie and blogmusik, it’s really addictive to listen to other user’s top 25 music lists, so I added it too. Tim send me audio-democracy, where a band can upload their music and where we, listeners, can listen to the albums of these bands, the list of artists is still small but its a great initiative. Anna sends me the wikimusicguide, which maybe something I dont have a category on, a music site without music hmmm… then again I really love all these albumgallery’s and the community initiative to enter all this information is also fantastic, I will add a new category “wiki”. Mike sends me IndieSolo, looks fantastic,
- The friendly people at Freewebs send a friendly helpful automated message how the free website is going. Actually I was just testing it out, seems like a Geocities 2.0
- Some friend/link invites from other social thingies like myminilife, orkut, linkedin, etc…
- Profilactic made an update to their site, checked it, for me: I really don’t have time to maintain a meta social network profile too at this moment, although I see the usefulness
- I’ve set up a new invite-only forum to discuss ideas for a selective small group of people to generate some new ideas for some website concepts that actually may or may not generate a small revenue for the participants, processed the forum information e-mails. In time this may turn into a small virtual company.
- Blurb sens me this promotional code: travelfs-R3A75, to get free shipping for my next order, I’m too busy to write a new book but maybe this code is helpful for anyone out there.
- Loudlaunch sends me an update for some paid articles that I can write for $15 each. I am a little bit busy so let me put this one in my starred list. If I can manage to bring my e-mail boxes back to 0 then I will write some new paid articles.
- The automated StartPagina linkchecker sends me an update that 7 links on my cv.startpagina.nl site return a 404. I will Star it too, to process after the e-mails.
- Albumprinter sends me an e-mail that all 2nd photo albums are 50% off, this crosses the fact that my wife just finished an album in Albumprinter called “Maarten 1e jaar” (all the pictures of our son during his first year), unfortunately we haven’t added any texts yet. But if we hurry then we can order 3 albums (also for our parents).
- Blogvertise, another company that pays Bloggers for articles asks me to update my profile to indicate if I’m male or female, ok. They also ask me to indicate directly If I want to accept a posting request or not since some advertisers directly ask to be placed on a site. Let me star this one to process later and go through their list. I like them, they actually pay me money. I will put their blogrequests on top of my list.
- Amiestreet, the web 2.0 music shop / new bands promotion site, sends me info on some new bands and the button “listen now”…. addictive! I still have 30 Reqs left todo on Amiestreet, let me star it to do this later.
- Logmein, has a new tool called Logmein ignition, it’s really a cool web application, I used it a while ago to take over the PC of my sister and just fiddled on her PC which makes things so much easier, I will check the new application out later.
- There are some requests from people and businesses to be placed on the cv.startpagia.nl, I have starred them to process later
- Linkworth, another pay-for-blogposting site has updated their control panel, I have to dive into this one some day since it seems very complicated.
- I answered a question from friends who want to buy a NAS, I advised them the Synology CS-407.
- I was invited to the social network YouMint, I will place this in my todolist to add to social.populair.eu whenever I have time. It seems they pay people when they add friends to their network so I expect I will receive YouMint invitations by the dozens probably the coming weeks.
- Numpa made some big updates to their site i made a numpa script to place your latest numpees on your blog.
- I have several messages waiting on spiceypage.com …. read.
- Then there are several job-offers and inquiries on Siebel, Microsoft CRM, at least I never will have to be afraid of ever have no work. I can build a phone book of the weekly job offers.
- I got an update that my risk.startpagina.nl was ok
- Eisjen mails me that she wants to place the painting by my grandfather of a woman reading on Lezende vrouwen in de kunst. I asked my mother who asked my grandfather and it was ok. You can see it here. I see she misses some info, so I will it put it on my todolist to send here some and a higher quality image.
- There are several thread updates from some skeptic forums
- An update from mister-wong, let me put on my todolist to add them to populair.eu
- I got an invite for Oink, but didn’t have time to really dive into it, however there seems to be quite a thing going around Oink so … on the todo list.
- Somebody added himself to one of my class photos in Schoolbank, so lets see who this is and see if I can remember him/her. I would be rude not to answer.
- PocketBreeze 5.3 is out. Put on my todolist to upgrade my PocketPC software.
- Some personal mails from friends
- An invitation to Spock, another social network, will put it on my todolist to add to social.populair.eu
- A suggestion to add Falling Skies to populair.eu, let me put this on my todolist

- I was sent a whole list of linksuggestions which I have to put on my todo list to check out, I liked http://www.qoop.nl/
- With the guys from http://www.qt.nl/ (quality time) I could have a great discussion as I display here in this post…
