While checking the list of greatest music sites I noticed the complete bottom part…gone 5/3,328. Somehow I think it was lost while publishing from WLW to WordPress and the extremely irritating thing is that there is no such things as “versioning” for WordPress (however I would like that very much) (but I don’t have time to write a complete ClearCase for WordPress…).
I also tried checking the Internet Archives but nothing could be found there either and the cached snapshot Submit is too recent to get any of these sites.
GRMBL. Now I have to dive deep in my mind to think what the other categories were and which sites were on it.
update: I found a .txt file copy of the html source!

maybe some of the people that commented on your original posting of the list have copied the list?
Oh, the wonders of Subversion, Mercurial, and other source control packages that don’t need a team of full time administrators!
btw: I really hate those “pingback” messages. Often it makes it damn hard to read those replies that have real content.
Tsui: I AM running subversion under this site….just not for the data which is contained in the database. I do a regular backup but I do not version every change that has been made in one of my blogpostings like an advanced version management integration would do
. There is no subversion thingie or whatever integration for WordPress but I now have found one plugin which does its own versioning, although it has some way to go (no merging, no version list-tree, etc…) A subversion plugin for WordPress for the content would be extremely cool….if it would exist. If I would have time I would write it.
Jelle: There were some comments with urls and a whole bunch of mails in my gmail archives, I will try to look them up but ofcourse there are hundreds of thousands of other good music sites to discover which could be placed here.
Cogmios’s last blog post..Many “greatest music sites” lost
But Ed, I’m not actually wasting my time on maintaining my own blog site
Me neither
Its hosted by a hosting company and the software is maintained by a community
I only have to type the blogs – so no difference there. However, these are still unversioned blogpostings just like yours
