Each time I post a blogposting from Windows LiveWriter to my WordPress I get an Error as shown to the right. However, the post always has been posted. This is a problem since reposting will create a new post instead of updating the old one.
It says “Error attempting to connect to weblog at: http://edward.de.leau.net/xmlrpc.php The operation has timed out”.
This is extremely irritating so I decided that I just HAD to take a look at it.
The logfile of LiveWriter shows me the following:

First stop: the Windows Live Writer forums . As you can read I posted there in august about the problem, but nothing really useful came out of it. The WordPress Live Writer Codex pages also reveal no further hints. … to be continued.
Edward, did you find a solution for this problem? I am confronted with the same issue.
Well… I read that enlarging the php timeout could help so I place this in my .htaccess and the php files involved, but this didnt help a lot.
Then what I tried: I exported my SQL database, moved to a new hosting company, installed WordPress fresh, imported my SQL database and uploaded the needed files. Then it was gone

I just ran into the same error message. In my post, I tried to include an image that is larger than 50K. It keeps showing me the operation time out error.
I re-sized the image down to 29K and try to post from Live write again. It works.
There is nothing wrong with my SQL database though. It’s matter of the image size that is too big, but I find no where to change the setting for that.
